Miranda Kerr couldn’t be happier for her blended family. The 37-year-old model was praised by Drew Barrymore during an appearance on her talk show Friday for her relationship with ex-husband Orlando Bloom’s fiancee, Katy Perry.
Barrymore called Kerr and Perry’s relationship “so positive and such an amazing example” of what women should be like.
“I adore Katy and I am so happy that Orlando has found someone who makes his heart so happy,” Kerr replied. “Because at the end of the day, for Flynn having a happy father and a happy mother is the most important thing.”
Kerr and Bloom, who were married from 2010 to 2013, share their 9-year-old son Flynn. Kerr remarried in 2017 to Snapchat co-founder and CEO Evan Spiegel. The couple share two children: 2-year-old Hart and 1-year-old Myles.
“I am so thankful that Orlando and Katy have met, and I am so thankful that we found my amazing husband and that we all really respect each other,” she continued. “When it comes to special occasions, when we have to be together, we solve it to achieve compromises [about] what is best for our whole family. “
“We really always think about what’s best for Flynn, and I think that’s the most important thing,” he said.
Perry and the Carnival row star welcomed daughter Daisy in August. Following the news, Kerr congratulated the couple on their first child together.
“💖🙏🏻🌈 I’m so happy for you guys,” Kerr wrote. “I can’t wait to meet her 💖🙏🏻🌈”.
As Perry prepared to return to work after giving birth, Kerr also encouraged her.
“MUTHA MILKS is back to work @americanidol and he’s already udderly🍼 ridiculously MOO-ving!” with a pink heart emoji.
ET spoke with Perry in October where he praised Bloom for being a great father to her baby.
“But Dad is doing a great job. Dad has stepped in,” Perry added of Bloom. “I’ve seen the Bjorn in it, I’ve seen him with the bottle, I’ve seen all the photos. It’s all good.”
