The National Association of Actors (ANDA) confirmed on December 17 that the Mexican actor Ernesto Yanez passed away on December 17. His loss is added to that of the filmmaker Paul Leduc who also passed away in 2020.
On its Twitter account, ANDA issued a statement expressing condolences to Yáñez’s relatives.

Ernesto Yanez He was recognized for his acting role in “The Empire of Fortune”, a film production that earned him the acclaimed Ariel Award for Best Actor in a Picture, in 1987.
The actor’s death occurred at the age of 74 due to complications due to suffering from COVID-19.
The Mexican Academy of Cinema and the Mexican Institute of Cinematography also mourned the death of the actor. Different people who enjoyed their participation in more than fifty productions throughout their fifty-year career.
The actor is also remembered for his participation in such novels as “Reaching a Star” and “Wild Heart.”
The Mexican Film Academy mourns the death of actor Ernesto Yáñez, with more than 60 films in his filmography, in 1987 he won the Ariel Award for Best Actor in a Picture for his participation in ‘The Empire of Fortune’ (Arturo Ripstein, 1996) .
