Meghan and Harry reveal more about their first Netflix docuseries. The series will focus on the Invictus Games, which give sick and injured military personnel the opportunity to compete in sports.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, in addition to creating podcasts for Spotify, have signed an agreement to create content for Netflix. And now they announce their first production in a statement from their company, Archewell Productions.
The docuseries will be called “Heart of Invictus” and will consist of several episodes. The series will be produced in partnership with the Invictus Games Foundation, of which Prince Harry is a sponsor. Most surprisingly, Harry will appear on camera in the series and will also serve as an executive producer.
In a statement, the producers said the series “will follow a group of extraordinary competitors from around the world, all members of the military. They have suffered injuries or illnesses that have changed their lives ”.
Meghan and Harry’s first Netflix project will focus on one of their most passionate causes
The Invictus Games is a Paralympic-style competition for wounded service personnel and veterans. This was founded by Harry in 2014. “Heart of Invictus” is the working title of the project, which will follow athletes as they prepare for the Invictus Games in The Hague, the Netherlands, which will now take place in 2022.
“From the first Invictus Games in 2014, we knew that each competitor would contribute in an exceptional way to a mosaic of endurance, determination and resolve,” Prince Harry said in a statement.
“This series will provide communities around the world a window into the moving and uplifting stories of these competitors on their way to the Netherlands next year.”
Meghan, 39, and Prince Harry, 36, signed a multi-year deal with Netflix last year. Its production company is prepared to make documentaries, feature films, programs and even exclusive children’s programming.
“Through our work with diverse communities and their environments, we want to shine a light on people and causes around the world. Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope, “Meghan and Harry said in a statement.
