The nephew of the first actress Lucía Guilmáin, Oscar Ortíz, reported on Twitter that his aunt passed away on February 15 at the age of 83.
Ortíz offered condolences to his cousins and regretted the departure of the Mexican artist whose birth name was Lucía Gutiérrez Puerta.
Today, my aunt, the first actress Lucia Guilmain, left the earthly plane. My condolences to my cousin @gigioorva to his grandchildren, Raúl and Caro. His daughter-in-law, Caro and his brothers, Juan, Mona and my mother… may the great Lucia Guilmain rest in peace.

Guilmáin made her debut as an actress during the 1960s, starting an abundant artistic career that led her to play roles in television series, films and novels.
For his part, Jorge Ortíz, explained that Guilmáin died in the afternoon in the company of his descendants.

The artist was the daughter of the actress Ofelia Gilmáin and sister of Juan Ferrara.
Other personalities expressed their condolences on Twitter and lamented the departure of an acting icon in Mexico.
