Larsa Pippen is opening up about her relationship with Malik Beasley.
In a new interview with Hollywood unlocked, the 46-year-old businesswoman explains why she decided to have an affair with the NBA star last November, despite knowing that he was still married. Beasley, 24, and his ex-wife, Montana Yao, share a son, 1-year-old Makai.
“We’d talked about it. It wasn’t a secret,” Pippen says of the conversation he had with Beasley about his marital status. “I know a lot of people who are married and dating. I have played that role. So to me, if you are not being suspicious and you are telling me all your things, I will believe you.”
“Many people are not happy in their situation and do not want to leave the ship until they see someone they like,” he adds. “You don’t want to shake your kids because you may never meet someone you really like. You’re living in the same place, but not really together.”
Pippen also claims during the interview that she is not the reason Beasley’s wife filed for divorce in December. “I googled them when I met him … they weren’t together,” he says. “They had problems before. It had nothing to do with me, so I wasn’t thinking about anything about it. If you spent a minute Googling their situation, it wasn’t the ideal situation before me.”
“What’s the point of getting beaten up by a guy you just started talking to?” she adds, how much media attention the photos of them coming out for the first time received. “It was really stupid. I just feel like I need to do a better job of not being public with my situation. I wasn’t trying to be public with this situation, but it just happened that way.”
Pippen also addresses her 2020 fallout with the Kardashians and whether she felt betrayed by them.
“I don’t know if you call him ‘betrayed’. Things happened and our relationship had reached a place that was just a strange and ugly place,” he recalls. “I never thought it would happen. I love you. We had a problem, or problems. We had a fight … but I’m not going to be mean or immature. If they come for me, then … karma bitch.”
“I feel like my lesson was the people you’re going to hit for, don’t expect them to hit for you,” he continues. “I had to learn that the hard way because he was a very loyal friend.”
As for how you feel about Jordyn Woods’ own fight with the family, following the drama involving Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson? “Some people value men before friends,” says Pippen. “I think she took a beating. She took a beating and the guy was forgiven. What the hell?”
