Khloe Kardashian is speaking out after receiving criticism for having her bikini photo taken from social media. The reality star took to Instagram to share a lengthy message about feeling judged on her appearance and her reaction to the image that was posted.
“Hey guys, this is me and my body without touch-ups or filters,” Kardashian wrote alongside a video, filmed in front of the bathroom mirror, of herself in her underwear with her arm across her chest.
The video was a response to people claiming that he digitally altered photos of her in a bikini to appear slimmer, especially after a photo was posted where Kardashian didn’t like the way she looked. When the photo was shared, the 36-year-old worked hard to remove the photo, and several people who reposted the photo claim that their accounts were frozen and their posts were removed.
“The photo that was posted this week is beautiful. But as someone who has struggled with body image all her life, when someone takes a photo of you that is not flattering in bad lighting or does not capture your body as it is after working so hard. to get to this point, and then share it with the world, you should have every right to ask that it not be shared, “he wrote. “Regardless of who you are.”
Kardashian went on to say that “the pressure, the constant ridicule and the judgment of my entire life to be perfect and meet other people’s standards of how I should see myself has been too much to bear.”
She went on to share examples of some of the bad things she heard and repeatedly read about herself on social media and in some tabloids: “‘Khloe is the fat sister.’ ‘Khloe is the ugly sister.’ real dad because he looks so different. “” The only way he could have lost that weight must have been through surgery. “Should I continue?”
She went on to explain that she is not “asking for sympathy”, but rather, “I am asking to be recognized for being human.”
“It’s almost unbearable trying to live up to the impossible standards that the public has set for me,” he continued, in part. “For more than a decade in photos, every flaw and imperfection has been microanalyzed and mocked down to the smallest detail, and the world reminds me of it every day. And when I take that criticism as motivation to get in my best shape life and even helping others with the same struggles, I have been told that I could not have made it through hard work and that I must have paid for everything. “
“You never get used to being judged, pushed aside and told how unattractive it is,” she explained. “But I’ll tell you that if you listen to something long enough, you start to believe it.”
Kardashian said that using a “good filter, good lighting and an edit here and there” is essentially the same as someone putting on makeup, doing their nails or wearing heels to introduce themselves to the world, and will continue to make them present themselves the way they want. ” unapologetically. “
“My body, my image and how I choose to look and what I want to share is my choice,” he wrote. “It is no longer up to anyone to decide or judge what is acceptable or not.”
Kardashian concluded her post with a message to other people reading that they feel insecure or pressured to show up in one way or another.
“We are all unique and perfect in our own way. Whichever way one chooses to be seen,” he shared. “I’ve come to realize that we can’t go on living life trying to fit into the perfect mold of what others have established for us. Just do it yourself and make sure your heart is happy.”
