Kelly Rowland isn’t the only superstar her newborn son Noah has known since he entered the world on January 21. As Rowland revealed in an interview with ET’s Kevin Frazier, her former Destiny’s Child bandmates Beyoncé and Michelle Williams recently visited to meet their baby boy.
“The girls were literally here in the house recently and when they met the baby it was like another part of my heart just … Being able to share space with Michelle and Bey is truly a gift,” said Rowland.
“It’s really a gift because we’ve known each other for so long and the industry doesn’t really make friends … It’s the nature of this, and we still have each other after all these years,” he continued. “And I am very grateful for them and they are the highlight of my life. Not professionally, but our friendship and our brotherhood, you are going to make me cry.”
The group’s brotherhood has lasted for decades. May 1 will mark 20 years since the release of his third studio album, Survivor.
“I remember feeling like, ‘Here’s the hit. Here’s his first No. 1, here’s his second No. 1. This record is at the top of the charts, he stays at the No. 1 spot. it was platinum. ‘It’s like a train that keeps moving,’ Rowland reflected. “It was incredible.”
Destiny’s Child officially disbanded in 2006, but they have reunited for musical performances multiple times since then. They have also been there for each other personally, supporting each other in important moments in life like marriage and motherhood.
Rowland’s baby Noah is her second child with husband Tim Weatherspoon. The couple are also parents to their 6-year-old son, Titan, and as the singer admitted to ET, her whole world has changed after becoming a mother of two.
“Noah has his own needs right now, and Titan still needs the attention he got before Noah, which is really something,” he shared.
“Yesterday, she dragged me down and said, ‘Mommy, I need you to look at me. I need you to see me,’ which is what I told her. I was like, ‘If Mom is ever busy or something, you have to tell me I want to give you all I can, but if I don’t and you feel like you need something, you have to tell Mommy. ‘So she does, and she did, “Rowland said. “And we sat and talked together, so last night he was very, very happy.”
And while balancing life with two children, Rowland is still working on new music. His new EP, K, It is scheduled to fall on Friday.
“I’m so excited about the music,” she gushed. “I always say the music is alive. There are live horns and all these great feelings from the records … I feel like the record, it was talking to me and I was praying that it would talk to others, really excited to share it.”
Rowland’s children are also involved in his new music, with Titan and Noah making an appearance in his music video for “Black Magic.”
“I literally told the director what I wanted, what I was looking for. And he gave it to me,” he revealed. “It took it to another level. That’s what was so special.”
“We shot it on the morning of my birthday and then we were able to include it in the edit right away. And I thought, this is how I share my little ones with everyone,” he added.
