Jodie Foster is not giving credence to the fan theory that she is responsible for setting up Aaron Rodgers and his fiancée, Shailene Woodley. The 58-year-old actress and director appeared on Thursday in Jimmy Kimmel Live where the host asked him about Rodgers’ recent recognition during his 2020 AP Most Valuable Player acceptance speech.
Kimmel played the clip in which Rodgers named Foster as part of his off-field team.
“You see, he said, ‘my team,’ even though he said, ‘off the field,’ that makes me a Green Bay Packer,” joked Foster, a longtime Packers fan. “People keep telling me, ‘No, Jodie, that doesn’t mean you’re part of the team.’ But it does mean that I’m part of the team. “
Foster, who co-stars The Mauritanian With Rodgers’ new fiancée, Woodley, he insisted he did not know the quarterback.
“He just knows that I’m his biggest fan,” he said, when Kimmel asked him if he knew she was going to thank him.
“Does he mention his fiancee, Shailene Woodley, who is his co-star in this particular movie and that’s just a total coincidence?” Kimmel pressed.
“I don’t know if it’s a coincidence. But yeah, it is and it’s fantastic,” Foster said of Woodley. “So we spent a lot of time The Mauritanian together in an air-conditioned tent spitting at each other talking about our lives and recipes and people we hate, things like that. And the Green Bay Packers emerged! “
During the same event where he thanked Foster earlier this month, Rodgers also revealed that he was engaged. The news came as a surprise to fans, who didn’t even know she was dating Woodley.
After Rodgers and Woodley’s relationship came to light, a source told ET that they have been together for a few months. “They have kept their relationship private for the most part, but they are very interested,” said the source.
