Survivor Student Sunday Burquest died after a battle with ovarian cancer. She was 50 years old.
Sunday’s daughter Kennedy Burquest shared the news in a tribute she posted to Instagram on Sunday, shortly after her mother’s death.
“To my incredibly beautiful mom, thank you. Thank you for fighting as hard as you did for so long,” Kennedy wrote in the caption of a mother-daughter photo slideshow she posted on Instagram. “Thank you for being a best friend, a role model, a sister and my mother all rolled into one. Thank you for raising me to love Jesus and to show that love to others. That is something you did very well.”
“It breaks my heart to know that you will never be able to see me on my wedding day, or be there when I have my first child. But I know that you are taking care of me,” she continued. “Even though it hurts so much to see you go, I am so happy that you are happy again. I am happy that you can be with Jesus and see your dad. I am happy that you are no longer in pain. I am happy that I can have these last months with you. “.
Kennedy continued, “I loved taking care of you. You will always be my favorite patient. I love you to heaven and back a million times. I know that one day we will meet again. Until then, I will spend every minute losing myself and trying to make you proud. Rest easy mom, I’ll see you soon 🤍 “
