Candace Cameron Bure criticizes the assumption that it is ‘easy’ to make distinctive films

Candace Cameron Bure isn’t here for anyone who thinks that shooting Hallmark movies isn’t hard work. The 44-year-old actress recently appeared on The Paula Faris podcastand clarify what it takes to be in a Hallmark Channel movie.

Cameron Bure has been in a whopping 18 movies for the Hallmark Channel over the years, and host Paula Faris joked that she was interested in appearing in one of the network’s feel-good movies despite having no experience in the acting.

“I mean, really, how difficult is it? Don’t you get it all the time?” he asked Cameron Bure.

Although Faris was clearly joking, the mother of three acknowledged that it was a question she is often asked.

“Can we talk about this for a second? I get it all the time,” said Cameron Bure. “‘How difficult is it to be in a Hallmark movie?’ Like, ‘Can I be in a Hallmark movie?’ And I said, ‘Are you a professional actor?’ ‘No.’ ‘Then no, you can’t.’

“You can be a bottom person, they are called extras,” he continued. “If you don’t have a speaking role, it’s easy. I can make that happen. If you have a speaking role, then we’ll have to make sure you can get the job done.”

ET spoke to Cameron Bure in November about his most recent Hallmark movie, If i only had christmas, and he shared that his work with the network definitely still seemed challenging and exciting to him due to the level of ownership he now has over his films.

“He really does it because I help develop and create these scripts with my producer,” he explained. “So because I’ve done nine [Christmas] movies, it’s not like they give me one and say, ‘This is what you’re going to do this year.’ So, I have been an executive producer for the last 20 movies I made for the Hallmark Channel. But then the Christmas scripts in particular, I mean, I’m still teaming up with my producer, so we wrote this and developed it from scratch. That’s why it’s so funny. “

However, he admitted that not everyone in his family is a fan.

“It’s a lot of fun because my family doesn’t mind watching my Hallmark movies except [my daughter] Natasha. She’s always up for it, but my boys [sons Maksim and Lev] They’re like, ‘Not another Hallmark movie,’ “he said.
