Writer and producer Dan Goor, who is in charge of Brooklyn Nine-Nine and has done other projects such as Legally Blonde, announced that the next season of the series will be its last.
It was through the series’ Twitter account, where they have more than 876 thousand followers, that the director made the announcement about the end of the NBC comedy series starring Andy Samberg, Melissa fumero, Terry crews, Stephanie beatriz Y Andre Braugher, among others.
I am very grateful to NBC and Universal for giving us the opportunity to give these characters and the fans the ending they deserve. When Mike Schur and I started talking about the pilot to Andy (Samberg), he said ‘Count on me, but I think the only way to tell the story is in exactly 153 episodes’, which is crazy, because it is exactly the number of episodes Mike and I had glimpsed.
I feel incredibly lucky to have worked with these incredible actors for eight seasons. They are not only the most talented in the world, but they are good people who have become my family. But above all, I feel fortunate to have the best fans in the world, “said Dan Goor in the statement.
In addition, the writer and director said that ending the show was a difficult decision, but that, ultimately, he felt it was the best way to honor the characters, their stories, and viewers.
Likewise, Goor emphasized that while some people feel that it is too soon to end, they are grateful for the period it lasted.
The series, which began in 2013 on the Fox network, is currently available on Netflix. Brooklyn Nine-Nine was created by Daniel Goor and Michael Schur and directed by Pamela Fryman and Rob Greenberg. At the moment, none of the actors has made any publication about it.
The eighth and final season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine will have 10 episodes and has no release date yet. Due to the postponements due to the coronavirus, it is expected to be broadcast during the 2021-2022 television cycle.
