Anne Heche is not holding back.
In one of his recent TikTok videos. Heche hilariously went over her “most iconic fashion looks” over the years, including one of her and ex-girlfriend Ellen DeGeneres, which inspired her to share an interesting fact about their relationship. The photo shows the two color-coordinated at the 1998 Golden Globes, with DeGeneres in a navy silk suit and Heche in a matching dress and sheer duster.
“Why do I look like a hippie?” Heche says before revealing, “It’s because Ellen didn’t want me to dress sexy.”
She gives her gaze a 0 out of 10, puts her thumb down and says, “Bye, no.”
Heche and DeGeneres date from 1997 to 2000.
Elsewhere in the video, she also comments on a “smash hit” red Prada ensemble that featured a funky hat she wore when performing with P. Diddy at the 1998 VH1 Fashion Awards. There’s also a cut-out Versace dress she wore. at an HBO after-party that gave herself a 10 out of 10.
The video ends with one of her most famous looks that she wore during her time on the last season of Dancing with the stars. “What better time for you to get upside down, backwards and upside down for gay rights and human rights,” she says of her rainbow cape outfit. “I am the flag.”
While on the dance competition show, Heche spoke candidly about her relationship with DeGeneres and how going public with their love in the late 1990s nearly cost them their career and led to years of exclusion from the industry.
“My story advanced the needle of equal rights, when I fell in love with Ellen DeGeneres,” Heche said during a segment on DWTS. “At the premiere of my film for Volcano, I said I was going to take Ellen as my date. They told me I would lose my contract with Fox. “
“He took me by the hand and said, ‘Do what they tell you.’ I said, ‘No thanks,’ ”the actress continued. “I took Ellen to the premiere, they made me go out and they told me they wouldn’t allow me to go to the after party for fear of having pictures taken with a woman. It was amazing.”
Heche said DeGeneres was “warning” her about what would happen, but she didn’t see it. “I was in a relationship with Ellen for three and a half years, and the stigma attached to that relationship was so bad that I was fired from my multi-million dollar movie contract. I didn’t work on studio photography for 10 years,” he said. saying.
In October, Heche also told ET while co-hosting the show: “[It was] one of the hardest things I think I’ve ever done, and I work hard. But, you know, you say yes to things in life, or you can say no, but what’s fun in that? “
She also told ET that she hadn’t spoken to DeGeneres in quite a while and didn’t tell her that she would be talking about their romance on the show.
“With relationships, I think a lot of us [been there], you come to a fork in the road, ‘What do you want and what do I want?’ “he explained.” Those goals, that intention in life, is determined by the individual. His intention and mine were different and that’s why we parted ways. “
