Alex Trebek was cremated after his death on November 8. Danger! The host’s wife, Jean, keeps his ashes at her home in Studio City, California, according to Alex’s death certificate, obtained by The explosion.
Alex died at home after a 20-month battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 80 years old.
In an interview with ET shortly after Alex’s death, Danger! Executive producer Mike Richards revealed that the beloved host’s last day was spent with the family.
“He had a good last day. He was in his swing that he loved with his wife and surrounded by family,” shared Richards. “It was a very quiet day, there was laughter and then he went to sleep.”
“If you know Alex, he did everything perfectly and even his last day he did it perfectly. I love that he had a good, good last day.” “In the end, his family came back to the city. He was surrounded by everyone and I think he knew it was his time. He was very at peace with it.”
Meanwhile, Jean thanked fans for their support in a heartfelt Instagram post on November 11.
“My family and I sincerely thank you all for your messages of compassion and generosity,” she captioned a photo of her wedding day with Alex.
“Your expressions have really touched our hearts. Thank you very, very much,” he continued. “Many blessings to all, Jean Trebek.”
