‘Everything Trash’ Trailer: Phoebe Robinson Stars in Freeform’s Meta Adaptation of Her Book

If the title of Freeform’s upcoming comedy series doesn’t catch your attention, the trailer certainly will! Executive Produced and Starring Phoebe Robinson, everything is garbage There is a Meta TV adaptation of Robinson’s book of essays by the same name, everything is garbage, but that’s ok,

The comedy series stars Robinson playing a fictionalized version of himself—also named Phoebe—a “30-something outspoken podcast star making his professional mark while living a broken and happily messy life in Brooklyn.” When her older brother Jaden starts a political campaign, Phoebe is forced to start her adult “magazine”.

Although Phoebe has a full base of fans, she suffers from an empty bank account. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like the former is doing much for the latter.

“Life is hard. And you’re doing the best you can,” Phoebe explains via podcast in the trailer. “Black Excellence is ab*tch, isn’t it?”

The trailer reveals that all-comedy viewers will see Phoebe as “depending on her friends and close family to help her explore adulthood,” including: Trying to attend an important event in clothing; holding a case of feelings for her hook-up (played by Brandon J. McLaren); In the podcasting room next door passive-aggressively dealing with a harassing pair and possibly being attacked by an owl. Typical millennial shenanigans.
