MEXICO CITY (EFE) .- Eugenio Derbez will be the protagonist and producer of the new Netflix film “Loteria”, the film based on the popular board game of the same name in which he will play a father who has just been widowed.

“The Lottery! We’ll have a new movie on Netflix”, the actor announced via his Instagram account, along with a representative photo of the traditional game in Mexico and Latin America, declaring “a film inspired by the game”.

The film, directed by James Bobbin, will follow the story of a man whose wife dies, played by Derbez, who wants to move closer to his children to keep the family together.

According to the newsletter, “when an old family lottery comes to life,” what seems simple at first will become complicated.

The Netflix statement said that “the family travels around the world to discover the secrets of the lottery and thus prevent it from falling into the hands of a mysterious tycoon with an evil plan.”

The other cast has not yet been confirmed, but the film’s writers include Roberto Orsi (“Transformers,” 2007–2009) and JR Orsi (“The Blacklist,” 2013) and is based on the story by Roberto and Adele Heather Taylor. is.
