Emergency in the air, with the actors of The Squid Game and Parasite

South Korean movies and series continue to dominate markets. And just like parasite won the Oscar and the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival, and the squid game exploded in global streaming, the protagonist of the first (Song Kang-ho) and one of the actors of the second (Lee Byung-hun) are in front of emergency in the air.

To give it a little more support, Han Jae-rim’s film had its premiere last year at the Cannes Film Festival, out of competition, of course. It is that it is an action film, suspense and with a theme that the writer and director would not have imagined when writing the script that was going to be so topical.

Because the need and urgency occur because there is a virus spreading aboard a plane with 121 passengers.

And guess what: no country wants to let the Sky Korea airline flight 501, which departed with a final destination in Hawaii, land on its land. Neither the United States nor Japan. No one. And in Korea itself they think twice before making a decision. And of course there will be a corporation, a multinational pharmaceutical company involved in all this.

And yes, he has a bad face.

And yes, he has a bad face.

Without telling too much, the thing is like this. A young man spread on social media that he was planning an attack. It wasn’t quite clear how he was going to do it, but Sergeant Koo (Song Kang-ho) moves on, only to discover that it wasn’t a false threat. We say no more.

The film is having, like any air disaster film from the first Airportwith Burt Lancaster and Dean Martin, at flight 93passing if they want up to And, where is the pilot? its scenes on board the plane and what happens on the ground. Before the flight takes off, we see how Ryu Jin-seok, the bioterrorist, randomly chooses which flight to take. And it doesn’t work that the sergeant’s wife is on that plane!

For more, a father and his little daughter also get on Economic, but they have a run-in with Ryu.

ok ready

From there, everything you can imagine is little. The virus can spread and make those who get it feel itchy, chilly, start coughing up blood. And since the plane is old -bah: it is 20 years old-, the ventilation reuses the air that is inside and since it is a new virus, the incubation period is short, and then… Will there be an antidote? Hey?

The heroic pilot is not missing in "Emergency in the air".

emergency in the air it is not original from any point of view. The confrontations between the passengers, the heroism of some pilot or stewardess, everything that cannot be missing, is not missing. Nor is there much left over: the decomposition of bodies goes hand in hand with the solidarity and altruism of those who are good and generous.

In short, popcorn made in Korea. And be careful: in the IMAX the extended version is projected, which lasts 20 minutes more.
