The Billboard Music Awards will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 15.

The 2022 Billboard Music Awards are bringing your favorites to the stage!

On Monday, Billboard announced a new slate of cast members for the upcoming awards show, which will take place May 15 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Ed Sheeran will join the show for a remote performance from Belfast, Northern Ireland, where he is among his + – = x Stadium tour. Sheeran topped the list of BBMA finalists with a spot in nine categories including Top Male Artist, Top Song Sales Artist, Top Radio Song Artist, Top Billboard Global 200 Artist, and more.

Becky G will make her BBMA performance debut, on the heels of her new album, escumasand her first #1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs: “MAMIII,” Karol G. will also perform with Travis Scott at this year’s awards – the rapper’s remix of the song “Goosebumps” is a finalist for Top Dance/Electronic Song.

Top Country Female Artist finalist Miranda Lambert and fellow country star Elle King will also take to the stage for a stunning performance of their collab of Top Rock Song finalist, “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home).”

The new cast joins previously announced headliner Megan Thee Stallion, who is set to make her Billboard Music Awards debut at the event. Apart from her performances, the 27-year-old rapper is also a finalist for Top Rap Female Artist, the same category for which she won the Billboard Music Award in 2021.

Meanwhile, the Red Hot Chili Peppers are returning to their BBMAs after 23 years. The group last took the stage in 1999 to perform a remix of their hit song “Scar Tissue” with Snoop Dogg.

Also taking the stage for his first performance at the BBMA is Raw Alejandro. The 29-year-old Puerto Rican singer and songwriter has been nominated in four categories: Top Latin Artist, Top Latin Male Artist, Top Latin Album and Top Latin Song.

Burna Boy and rapper Leto will also take to the stage at this year’s awards show. Lato’s performance would come after a successful year, in which she became the first woman to set a number one record at pop, rhythm and urban radio with her hit “Big Energy”, a single. Lotto is nominated for Top Rap Female Artist along with Megan Thee Stallion.

The full list of 2022 BBMA finalists was announced on April 8, with The Weeknd landing nominations in 17 categories. It was later revealed that Mary J Blige would receive this year’s ICON Award.

Blige – who has won 10 Billboard Music Awards during her career – emphasized the honor in a statement on April 14.

Blige told Billboard, “My career has been such an incredible and unpredictable journey that has covered many paths I never imagined, such as acting, producing, starting a business and now my own music festival.” “Through it all, I’ve always come back to my first love, music in some way or another. To be recognized in this way at this time, with the Icon Award at the Billboard Music Awards, is an incredible honor and one that I’m actually polite.”

The Billboard Music Awards airs Sunday, May 15 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on NBC. The show will be telecast live on Peacock.
