Dr Dre is forced to pay his ex-wife, Nicole Young, $ 100 million after finally finalizing a divorce settlement, according to a new report.
Dr. Dre, 56, says he is “delighted” to have “only” to pay his ex-wife, Nicole Young, a fraction of his fortune of $ 820 million, TMZ reported on Tuesday, December 28. The outlet claims the rapper will only be forced to pay her $ 100 million, even though her 51-year-old ex originally asked for half of her assets – their prenuptial agreement prevented her from getting any more.
Under the reported deal, Dr. Dre will pay Nicole $ 50 million now and an additional $ 50 million in a year. He will also keep seven properties they shared together, including a house in Malibu, as well as two properties in Calabasas and four more in Los Angeles. He will also keep a $ 100 million mansion in Brentwood and retain the rights to his main recordings.
But Nicole was not closed to everything. She would have the option of keeping four of the couple’s 10 vehicles, and she would also keep her expensive jewelry, along with any funds she managed during their marriage. She will, however, have to pay her own legal fees, which have likely run into millions of dollars after the long divorce battle.
Sources close to the rapper said TMZ that he would have been willing to pay Nicole more if she had simply agreed to her original terms in 2020. “She might even have been in the field for the Super Bowl halftime show as an ex-wife friendly, “a source told the news outlet.
As we previously reported, Dr. Dre will be headlining the Super Bowl Halftime Show alongside Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar in 2022.
