Dominic West doesn’t have to dig too deep to star in Father Prince Charles’ upcoming fifth season The crown.
A representative from Netflix confirmed to ET that West’s real 13-year-old son, Senan West, was cast to play a young Prince William in the royal drama.
diversity was the first to report the news, saying that Senan would be coming towards the end of season five to play a slightly older version of the role Timothee Sambor plays at the beginning of the season.
Timothee was accompanied by the child actor Teddy Hawley, who plays the younger Prince Harry. William and Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, is played by principle This season star Elizabeth Debicki who takes on the role of Emma Corrin from season 4.
The impressive first pictures of Dominic and Elizabeth as Charles and Diana have already been released for the drama.
Season 5 of The crown is currently being shot and should be released in November 2022. It is expected to cover the period of the royals in the 90s. And since Elizabeth was cast as Diana, who died in 1997, for seasons 5 and 6, the upcoming season is unlikely to span a full decade as it has in previous seasons.
ET spoke to Elizabeth back in September 2020 about competing against the Princess of Wales.
“I’m really, really, a fan, and I’ve been since season 1. My very dear friend Vanessa Kirby played Princess Margaret so beautifully for the first two seasons. That’s why I really started to see it, and I remember having seen it thought, ‘This is remarkable,’ “she said at the time. “Everything people do on this screen is just amazing.”
