Dolly Parton launches her brand for dogs, wants to help animals

Singer, businesswoman and Queen of the Country Dolly Parton launched her own brand of dog clothing, accessories and toys to help animals, cleverly named Doggy Parton. YOU MAY BE INTERESTED: What to do in Dollywood and how to get there from North Carolina

During her brand launch, Dolly emphasized that her first record was Puppy Love (1959) and her “love for pets has been stronger than ever since.” According to Parton, that same love led her to open her own line of canine products.

Why did Dolly Parton start Doggy Parton, her dog brand, and how will she help animals? In a video showcasing her new venture, the 76-year-old interpreter said a portion of the profits would go to Willa B Farms, an animal welfare charity. “Willa B Farms Animal Rescue is dedicated to improving the lives of homeless, neglected, abused and abandoned animals,” the organization’s website reads. Based in Old Hickory, TN, the organization individually rescues and rehabilitates animals “to provide them with a loving and caring environment in which to recover and thrive.” Along with the help, Dolly’s line will have her signature stamp, with flannel textures and even blue jeans.

Dolly is not alone in this project as she launched her brand with the help of her puppy Billy the Kid, a French Bulldog with more than 40,000 followers on social media such as Instagram. The collection includes pink feathered hats starting at $9.99, as well as pink “pearl” necklaces, guitar dresses and wigs. Toys range from butterflies to guitars to a “microphone” and a pink heel to bite into.
