Dev Patel, actor of ‘I wish I were a millionaire’, intervenes to stop a fight in Australia

The actor DevPatel, known for his leading role in the film I would like to be a millionaire (2008), grabbed the spotlight this week after it was revealed that stepped in to break up a fight which took place in the city of Adelaide, Australia.

A representative of the actor confirmed this situation to variety magazine through a statement: “We can confirm that last night, in Adelaide, Dev Patel and her friends witnessed a violent altercation that was happening outside a convenience store.”

Dev acted on instinct to try to de-escalate the situation and break up the fight. Fortunately, he was successful in doing so and remained on site to ensure that the police and eventually the ambulance arrived.”

“There are no heroes in this situation and sadly this incident highlights a larger systemic problem: marginalized members of society who are not treated with the dignity and respect they deserve,” the statement added.

Likewise, the local outlet 10 News First Adelaide shared a video on his social networks where the actor is seen talking to the police after the fight:
