I was faced with the choice of walking into the bathroom and it said ‘female’ and ‘male’, so I didn’t feel like there was a bathroom for me because I didn’t feel necessary like a woman. I felt like a man did not do.”

“I just felt like a human. And that’s what they/they are to me. It’s just about, like, feeling human at my core,” she continued. “Lately, I’m feeling more feminine, and so I’ve embraced that again. But I think what’s important is, like, no one is perfect. Everyone messes up pronouns at some point. And especially when people are learning. It’s just about respect.”
