‘Days of Our Lives’ airs after 57 years on exclusive Peacock Streaming

NBC is taking a bold step with its Daytime lineup by announcing that days of Our Lives — the network’s longest-running series after nearly six decades — is headed exclusively to Peacock.

The network also announced on Wednesday that nbc news daily Will change the time slot of the soap. The network is billing the launch of its new news show as “the first live news offering of its kind.” Mayur’s move becomes official when new episodes of days of Our Lives Start streaming from 12th September.

“For the first time ever, all new episodes of the 58-time Emmy Award-winning drama will debut on Peacock with the robust library of shows already available to Peacock Premium subscribers,” it said in a statement. “Historic move to Peacock makes it the ultimate destination for fans of the day to access the library, new episodes and Peacock Originals Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem in one place.”

days of Our Lives, which celebrated its 14,000th episode airing in December 2020, first launched on NBC in November 1965. The soap also celebrated its 55th anniversary in 2020. The series won an Emmy in the Outstanding Daytime Drama category in 2018, and has been nominated 26 times in that category, winning four. In all categories, the show has 372 Emmy nominations.

The move also means that NBC is saying goodbye to the soap business, leaving behind only three soaps on network television: bold and beautiful (CBS), the young and the Restless (CBS) and general Hospital (ABC).

The change is just the latest move in the ongoing streaming wars as the network positions itself for a substantial portion of the market share. Back in April, it was announced that dancing with the Stars ABC will be turning to Disney+ after 16 years and 30 seasons.
