Country music legend Naomi Judd has died at the age of 76

One of the greatest references in country music, Naomi Judd, best known for the duo The Judds, has died at the age of 76reported his family.

The singer’s daughters reported deep pain.

“We lost our wonderful mother, who was stricken with a mental illness“, reported her daughters Wynnona and Ashley in a statement.

Naomi reportedly died near Nashville.

The Judds had just announced a stadium tour set to begin in the fall and this would be their first tour in over a decade.

Naomi and Wynonna formed the duo The Judds in the late 1970s. and won great awards including 5 Grammys.

His most famous songs include “Love can build a bridge“, “Mom, he’s crazy“Y”girls night out“.

Naomi Judd, the country singer who has died aged 76, had a career spanning nearly 3 decades with the duo she formed with her daughter.

After rising to the forefront of country music, the duo split in 1991 after doctors diagnosed Naomi Judd with hepatitis C, leaving Wynonna to pursue her solo career.

The Judds released six albums and one EP between 1984 and 1991. and they also won 9 awards from the Country Music Association and 7 from the Academy of Country Music.

In 1994, they performed at the Super Bowl halftime show along with Travis Tritt, Clint Black and Tanya Tucker.

The Country Music Hall of Fame had announced The Judds would join in May. for managing to “bring 1980’s country back to its roots with light songs and melodies influenced by traditional folk music, acoustic blues and its familiar harmony”.
