Broadway closes temporarily

NEW YORK (EFE) .— The musical “Mrs. Broadway’s “Doubtfire” will be closed for nine weeks because of the coronavirus wave registered in New York, which has already left numerous suspensions and premature closings of other musicals in the theater’s Mecca.

“The first few months of a new Broadway show are incredibly delicate and important. With the omnipresence of the Omicron variant, ‘Mrs. Doubtfire “would have to close permanently if production didn’t take drastic and proactive measures,” the show’s producer Kevin McCollum explained in the text.

“Ms. Doubtfire ‘has been in development for six years. We’re doing everything we can to ensure that the virus doesn’t end our big Broadway show prematurely,” he added.

Ms. Doubfire, which stars the comedy starring Robin Williams, in which a father dresses up as a babysitter so he can spend more time with his children after the divorce, was released on December 5th at the Stephen Sondheim Theater on Broadway released.

The premiere came 18 months late after New York-imposed measures that resulted in the closure of all Broadway theaters for a year and a half.

The current wave of infections with the coronavirus has resulted in the premature closure of works such as “Ain’t Too Proud”, “Thoughts Of A Colored Man”, “Jagged Little Pill” and “The Waitress” as well as temporary suspensions of “The Music Man with Hugh.” Jackman, Hamilton and The Lion King.
