Britney Spears isn’t on honeymoon with new husband Sam Asghari yet, and is finally settling down after a star-studded wedding in search of a new home. But fans need not worry. She says “life is good.”
The “…Baby One More Time” singer updated her fanbase on Instagram on Wednesday about what’s been happening since their dream wedding in Thousand Oaks, California, earlier this month. Spears revealed that the honeymoon isn’t over yet, but there’s still a lot to celebrate after the wedding.
“Getting married and moving into a new house around the same time,” she wrote in her long caption, “isn’t the smartest thing to do.”
That being said, Spears said, “it’s coming together.” She’s clearly having a lot of fun with her new digs, which also include a new pool with a water slide. Truth be told, it looks like Spears still isn’t used to it, at least not yet.
“It’s so weird that I wake up and everything is new,” she continued. “New pool… New kitchen… New bed… I think I’m in shock!!!”
She says her dogs are loving the expansive backyard, she’s having a blast on the water slide and Asgari is the forever doting husband, cooking her a nice piece of steak. It’s no surprise that Spears, who also said she’s cut her hair short, says life is good.
Spears’ post was accompanied by a photo of her in a colorful bikini and a short video of Asgari showing off her best diving skills. Sources told ET that the update comes after a drop of $11.8 million for the 11,650-square-foot home spread over 1.6 acres in Calabasas, California. The spacious house is in the same community as Brittany’s ex-husband Kevin Federline.
The house is a spacious, single-story property built in a contemporary Mediterranean style with tile, clay and concrete. Property listing from Coldwell Banker Lists the home with seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a heated pool, home gym, movie theater, wine cellar and separate maid’s quarters.
In addition to amenities, the listing also includes a slew of opulent details, including a 33-foot-high ceiling foyer wrapped in carved stone, vaulted hallways throughout the home, and custom-made chandeliers throughout the property. At the time of purchase, the property was only on the market for less than five months.
Aside from the wedding and home shopping, there’s another big change in Spears’ life. A source also told ET that, after the singer’s ex, Jason Alexander, tried to crash the marriage, Spears “fired her entire security team.”
Says the source, “Jason Alexander trying to crash his marriage was a complete disaster and no one understood how this could happen.” “Britney felt her security team was less prepared and was very nervous and overwhelmed.”
Alexander broke into Spears’ house on their wedding day, demanding to see Spears. He was tackled to security and eventually arrested while answering a trespass call by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Deputy.
Spears and Asghari were eventually given a three-year protective order against Alexander, with whom she had a brief marriage in 2004. Her ex has pleaded not guilty to charges against her—including felony felony, misdemeanor and refusal to leave personal property, misdemeanor vandalism damage, and misdemeanor battery.
