Brendan Fraser breaks down in tears after a six-minute ovation in Venice for his performance in ‘The Whale’

Brendan Fraser returned to the big screen in Darren Aronofsky’s film, The Whale, where he gives life to Charlie, a man of more than 270 kilos. This film premiered last Sunday at the Venice Film Festival and everything seems to indicate that everyone was impressed with its fabulous performance.

Fraser was applauded by all those present at the world premiere of the film in ‘la mostra’; the applause and shouts acknowledging his great work lasted six minutes. The actor could not hold back his tears and broke down in tears in the movie theater.

The moment managed to be captured on video and has moved millions of Internet users on social networks: “The applause was so enthusiastic that Brendan Fraser tried to leave the theater but the applause of the crowd forced him to stay,” he wrote. Ramminn Setoodeh, co-editor of Variety magazine.

Before the premiere of the film, Fraser gave a press conference at the festival where the 53-year-old actor recalled the challenges he had to go through to bring to life Charlie, a gay English teacher who suffers from severe obesity that exceeds 270 kilos..

“I built muscles that I didn’t know I had. I even felt a sense of vertigo at the end of the day when all the braces were removed. It gave me appreciation for those whose bodies are similar. You need to be an incredibly strong person, mentally and physically, to inhabit that physical being.”said the actor when talking about his role as Charlie.

Darren Aronofsky gave Brendan the opportunity to have a leading role in The Whale After 9 years, Internet users on social networks reacted happily to this new opportunity.
