Brad Pitt Praises Ana de Armas as ‘Unprecedented’ as Marilyn Monroe: ‘Tough Dress to Fill’ (Exclusive)

Brad Pitt admires Ana de Armas a lot. As a producer on the upcoming Marilyn Monroe film, WhiteHe credits the actress with helping the project “go ahead in full”.

“She’s phenomenal at this,” he tells ET’s Nischell Turner. “It’s a tough outfit to fill.”

WhiteWhich shows the biggest highs and personal lows of Monroe’s career, arrives on Netflix on September 28.

Based on the bestselling novel by Joyce Carol Oates, the film also stars Adrien Brody, Xavier Samuel, Julian Nicholson, Lily Fischer, Evan Williams, Toby Huss, David Warshofsky, Kasper Phillipsson, Dan Butler, Sarah Paxton and Rebecca Wisk. It is directed by Andrew Dominic, whom Pitt calls “an old friend”.

“I was 10 years in the making,” Pitt said of the project. “It wasn’t until we found Ana that we could make it across the finish line.”

Pitt spoke on the red carpet with ET at the premiere of his latest starring vehicle, bullet train, The action-comedy race to the big screen in theaters on August 5

star performance in bullet train Marks new territory for the famous actor, as it’s an action comedy heavily inspired by the iconic Jackie Chan—who was a great influence on both Pitt and director David Leach.

“We always talk about Jackie Chan, how much we love Jackie Chan,” Pitt said, adding that he’s like our Charlie Chaplin, he’s just so underrated. And this stuff is so amazing he’s pulled off. So to do something in that vein, in a tussle with comedy, I’ve never done that before!”

Pitt also discussed another leading lady in his life on Monday night — daughter Shiloh, who recently made headlines for her impressive dancing skills.

“It brings tears to my eyes, yes,” Pitt said of Shiloh and her love for dancing and performing, adding that she is “so beautiful.”

“I don’t know where he got it. I’m Mr. Two-Left-feet here,” he said with a laugh.
