Reasons behind the film Hare Rama Hare Krishna due to Dev Anand

A name in Hindi cinema which acted in over 100 films and also directed 19 films. The name of that superstar was Dev Anand. His second directorial film Hare Rama Hare Krishna proved to be the biggest hit of 1971. There is a very interesting story behind the making of this film.

Actually, Dev Anand went to Kathmandu for some work. His German friend said that he too came to Kathmandu to shoot one of his documentaries. When they met, they told Dev about the place in Nepal, where people from outside come to party and do drugs. Dev Saheb also came to see the new atmosphere and saw young boys and girls getting drunk. Then she looked at a girl, she did not look foreign.

Dev Anand asks the waiter about the girl. The waiter held a meeting of the girl with Dev Sahab the next day. The girl’s name was Jasbir, who called herself Janice. She was from Canada and ran away from home due to restrictions imposed on her by her mother. Hearing the story of Janis, Dev Sahab came up with the idea for the story of his new film and decided that he would make a film on Janice’s life on a hippie culture. Dev Anand cast Zeenat Aman for the role of Zeenat in the film. The film was such a hit that Zeenat became an overnight star as well. After this film, Dev Anand and Zeenat acted together in many films like ‘Ishq Ishq Ishq’, ‘Prem Shastra’.
