These are the days when director Mahesh Bhatt was making a film called ‘Aaj’ in 1987. Whose hero was Kumar Gaurav. In those days, a young man from Delhi came to Mumbai to work in films. A friend asked him to go to the office of the film’s producer Kuljeet Paul. This young man was a karate champion. When he arrived at the producer’s office, he got a small role in the film. Of a teacher who teaches karate.

It was a day job. The boy was in dire need of money and work. So we agreed to that minor role. When the boy reached the shooting the next day, he was very happy to meet Kumar Gaurav, the son of superstar Rajendra Kumar. The shooting ended and the money was recovered. Even after leaving the set, Kumar Gaurav and his character were still on the boy’s mind. Don’t know what came to his mind that he went straight to the Bandra court and applied to change his name.

Kumar Gaurav was named in that film and he applied for the name. Not only this, under the new name, the young man had also printed visiting cards for himself. That young man became so famous by that name that he is still ruling Hindi cinema and the name of that hero is Akshay Kumar.
