Famous for singing Bhajan Samrat and Mata Bhajan in Jagrata, Narendra Chanchal died today at Apollo Hospital in Delhi after a long illness. Narendra Chanchal was 80 years old.
He was admitted to Apollo Hospital for the last two months due to increasing age. According to reports, he breathed his last at around 12.15 pm this afternoon.
Talking about his songs, his hit list includes songs like ‘Chalo Bulava Aaya Hai’ and ‘O Jungle Ke Raja Meri Maiya Ko Leke Aaja’.
Narendra Chanchal was born on 16 October 1940 in Namak Handi, Amritsar. He was brought up in a very religious atmosphere. After much struggle, he got a job in Bollywood. He also sang in many films like Bobby, Anonymous and Roti Kapda and Makan.

He wrote his biography Midnight singer I wrote everything about my journey. Narendra Chanchal used to visit Vaishno Devi every year on 29 December and also performed on the last day of the year.
