Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon express their support for everyone amidst the Single recent reorganization of the franchise. In an interview with ET’s Katie Krause, the couple spoke about their feelings regarding host Chris Harrison’s departure from the franchise and the people who have taken on the role since.

In June, Harrison left the franchise for good after nearly two decades. In place of Harrison, Kaitlyn Bristowe and Tayshia Adams are currently hosting Katie Thurston’s season of High school.

“Chris is a very good friend of ours. We didn’t want to see him leave the show, but we love Kaitlyn and Tayshia. So it’s difficult because I think those two things are not mutually exclusive,” said Haibon, 32. ET. “We were hoping, at least I hoped, that Chris would have another chance to come back, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t want Kaitlyn and Tayshia to be there. I want to support them.”

“I wish nothing but the best for Chris Harrison’s future endeavors, because he is a friend and [we] I wish him all the best in the world, “he added.

Iaconetti, 33, was quick to agree with her husband, whom she married in 2019 and is currently expecting her first child. “We really wish it was different,” said the expectant mother.

Harrison’s departure came amid controversy, which began after he defended eventual Single the past racist actions of winner Rachael Kirkconnell, encouraging people to offer their “grace” and speaking out against the “awake police” during an interview with Rachel Lindsay. Both Harrison and Kirkconnell have apologized.

Before his permanent departure, Harrison took a hiatus from the franchise and Emmanuel Acho stepped in to host the After the Final Rose special for the Matt James season. The Bachelor.

“It is very difficult because we did not approve of the interview, but I was hoping that we would address it more and be able to speak more openly about it,” Haibon explained. “What I really expected is that Emmanuel [hosted]… they would bring Chris and he could sit down with Emmanuel and talk about everything that happened, and address everything. “

“Obviously that never happened. Then Chris went ahead and The Bachelorhas moved on, “he continued.” I really only wish the best for both of you because the Single The franchise is always so important to us. He is important to me and I wish the best for him Single franchise. I just support everyone. “

While a new permanent franchise host has yet to be announced, the upcoming season of Bachelor in Paradise It will be hosted by a host of celebrities, including David Spade and Lance Bass. Further, BEEP Bartender Wells Adams will take on an expanded role, serving as the master of cocktails and ceremonies.

“It seems out of place for David Spade to be a permanent host, but [what a] way to change the franchise. I mean, it could be a lot of fun. I think it will be perfect for Paradise“Iaconetti said.” … I’m going to be very interested in seeing that week, and we also want to see Lance, because we are friends with him. “

“I think they are both going to do a great job. I think it will be entertaining,” he continued. “… When we have guests, I think it will be more like schemes. I think David Spade will do fun things and things like that.”

Haibon agreed and told ET: “We are excited for Paradise. Paradise it’s my favorite show in the franchise so glad it’s back … turn off your brain for a couple of hours and watch Paradise And watch people go through this drama We are allowed to make fun of that, because we passed it and people made fun of us. “

Paradise holds a special place in the couple’s hearts because they appeared together on two seasons of the show before their 2018 engagement. Now that they’re waiting, they can’t wait to bring their bundle of joy to that beach.

“That will be a full circle,” Haibon said. “I know it’s ridiculous for people to think, but that beach in paradise is very important. It’s where we first met. It’s where we got engaged. It’s where we went through a lot of ups and downs.”

“I think we grew up a lot together and separately on that beach,” he continued. “So the idea of doing it again with our son is crazy, but incredible.”

It is for sentimental reasons like those that the couple expects so much Paradise and the Single the franchise as a whole lives on.

“I hope it continues forever,” Haibon said. “I don’t want the show to ever get canceled.”

“We definitely want it to continue. It’s good for us. It’s good for matchmaking. We love the show. I enjoy it every week. I feel like it has its ebbs and flows … and maybe I’m going through one of those now,” he said Iaconetti. “I think Paradise it’s something that people need, because that gives it a certain lightness and a sense of humor. “

“I think it’s a time, in this world, where we need that,” he continued. “I think that could really improve the franchise and put a smiling face on it again.”

Katie Thurston’s season of High school is currently airing on ABC. Season 7 of Bachelor in Paradise It will premiere on August 16 on the network.
