Bindi Irwin’s daughter lovingly recognizes ‘Grandpa Crocodile’ Steve Irwin

Bindi knows all about Irwin’s daughter Steve Irwin. The 24-year-old conservationist shared a video of her and husband Chandler Powell’s 1-year-old daughter Grace on Instagram on Sunday, recognizing a photo of the late crocodile hunter, who died in 2006.

“Do you see him? Is he here?” In the lovely clip, Bindi asks Grace. Grace responds by running up to a poster featuring her late grandfather, which has been hung in a construction area at the Australia Zoo.

“Grandpa the crocodile,” says Bindi as her daughter points to the picture.

When Grace walks up to Steve’s second poster, Bindi praises “Good Girl” before instructing her daughter to shake hands over the photo. Grace does just that and, in return, her mom says, “I love you, sweetheart. Grandpa Crocodile loves you too.”

Bindi captioned the picture, “We have a little construction going on to make our Tasmanian devil abode @australiazoo even more beautiful.” “Grace’s favorite part? Grandpa the alligator visit. All the love.”

Commenting on the post, Chandler wrote, “I get her little wave every time.”

When ET spoke with Bindi, as well as her mom, Terri, and brother, Robert, Irwins revealed how the youngest of their kid is like Steve.

“I think Steve has that determination and that connection with wildlife,” Terry said of his granddaughter. “Because it is strange to see that animals are attracted to her. So she will go out in the morning on a walk, and all the kangaroos gather around her as if they are having a meeting.”

“Oh my word, koalas… literally come out of their trees to see him,” agreed Bindi. “His best friend is an Aldabra tortoise… When he sees Grace, he runs across her paddock, which is huge. If you’re a tortoise, you really can’t run very fast , but he does his best, runs to the paddock to see her and just sits down. She tries to pat him, and she ends up like hitting him on the head.”
