Betty White’s passing was tough on all who loved her, but especially those who knew her best. Now girlfriend Vicki Lawrence shares that Betty said only one word before she passed away peacefully.
The world has lost an icon when Betty Blanche passed away on December 31, 2021. Television’s first lady was only weeks away from her 100th birthday, but it was a comfort to many to know that she passed away peacefully in her home, without much ado . Now a tender detail has been revealed about his final moments with us from pal Vicki Laurent, who worked with Betty on her TV show “Mama’s Family” at the time.
Vicki explained in an exclusive interview with Sixth page that she spoke with a mutual friend Carol burnett right after Betty died. “I texted Carol and said, ‘This sucks. I hate that. It’s just horrible to see the people you love so much go away, ”said 72-year-old Vicki. In her response, Carol gave him some heartwarming information. Carol responded and said, ‘I know, I know. I spoke to Betty’s assistant, who was with her when she passed away, and she said the very last word out of her mouth was “Allen”.
Allen, as in her late husband Allen Ludden, died in 1981 at the age of 72 from stomach cancer. Throughout her life, Betty has only spoken lovingly about her spouse, and for many, like Vicki, it’s nice to think of the two finally reunited. “Is it sweet?” Vicki added in her interview. “I said, ‘That’s so sweet. God, I hope this is true. For all of us, I really hope it’s true, a beautiful thought.
Betty and Allen were married on June 14, 1963. Although they never had children, Betty was a wonderful stepmother to Allen’s 3 children from her previous marriage. He sadly passed away before he got to see the true scale of his success, like playing in Golden Girls, Hot in Cleveland, and a slew of comedy films. But like all of us, we’re sure he enjoyed the time he spent with her. Hoping they’re together again.
