“Hi. Wow. Hello…,” said Seyfried when Leto asked her what she would say to the ex-Theranos CEO. “I don’t know. I want to spend some time with her and know that maybe I shouldn’t, because I have affected her legal experience in some way. Right now, Sunny Balwani is in court, and she may face punishment.” Or can’t depend on Sunny’s punishment. And so, it’s really messed up.”

Balwani, Holmes’ boyfriend and former Theranos chairman and chief operating officer, is also facing legal trouble over the ongoing fraud. Seyfried said his upcoming sentencing is something he’s thought about a lot.

“I’ve thought about punishment a lot. We tried to get him out of a place of compassion and merit. I know that whatever punishment he’s been given, that’s what he deserves,” Seyfried said. “And I also know, there’s a place for her in my gut, outside of prison, outside of this whole Theranos thing — if she goes to jail. Then she’ll go out and invent something new that won’t work for me.” knows if I’m the only person who feels that way.”

“While playing her role as an actor, I went to a place like, ‘I want to know this woman, I really want to know what’s up,'” Seyfried shared. “Liz Meriweather wrote these wonderful scripts, ‘Well, I totally agree, that’s a lot of pity,’ it’s totally different from seeing, ‘Oh, look at that train wreck,’ it’s like, wait Why? Why is all this done? And that’s why we made this show.”

If she could ask Holmes any questions, Seyfried joked that she’d ask the former entrepreneur how many “Steve Jobs T-shirts” she has.

While Seyfried said he tried to portray the events that happened as accurately as possible, he emphasized that the show is just a story, and a depiction of what really happened to Holmes.

“Listen, it’s not entirely accurate, but we definitely tried and it’s an amazing story,” she said, before sharing how she would feel if Holmes and the rest of the real-life players in the play saw Hulu. Show. “It can also be highly educational, but it’s just a story for our show and if they see it, they see it. We can’t really think on those terms.”
