Almost Famous Musical Broadway Hits Before the End of the Year

A trend in recent years on Broadway has been the adaptation of musicals based on iconic films. So it’s no surprise that a lovely movie choice almost FamousThe story of which also occurs in the music industry, became a musical.

Actor Patrick Fugit plays a 15-year-old boy who was hired by the medium in the ’70s and sent to follow in the footsteps of the fictional rock band Stillwater.

The film’s soundtrack, which won a Grammy for “Best Anthology for Visual Media”, was re-released last year in a massive 102-song box set.

Previously unreleased songs on reprint included performances by artists of tiny Dancerby Elton John, and a remix and version wonderful journey / sparkBy The Who, arranged by Crow himself.

It includes original scores by Nancy Wilson, original music by Stillwater (composed and recorded by Crow, Wilson, and Peter Frampton), and classics by other legendary artists.

The play was produced for the first and only time in 2019 at The Old Globe Theater in San Diego. It was directed by Tony Award nominee Jeremy Herrin and received rave reviews.

Since then, there has been little news about the music, leading some to wonder if the project was dead. But this week, the musical’s production updated its website and its official Twitter bio. And he announced: “It’s all happening … Broadway 2022.”

Other than the fact that the show is coming to the Great White Way in the last quarter of this year, no further details were revealed. Production is expected to begin on Broadway in the American winter, positioning itself for the 2023 Tony Awards, which are usually held in the spring.
