Despite some serious problems between the two, Ellie and Victor decided to take the next step in their relationship in the Sunday episode 90 days fiancé: the other way. Victor proposed marriage to Ellie with a clam in an impromptu moment on the beach.
Ellie left her successful pizza business and all of her friends in Seattle to be with boyfriend Victor, whom she met while on vacation on his Colombian island of Providencia. Her friends already had doubts about her decision as he cheated on her with another woman – whom Ellie presented with evidence about the affair after Victor initially denied it – but she eventually forgave him for it. But as she was preparing to move, a Category 5 hurricane hit Providencia. Ellie, who had tragically lost her first husband when he overdosed on prescription pain medication, still dropped everything to be with him, even though her situation had changed dramatically. Victor luckily survived the hurricane but was traumatized and the house he had made up for Ellie was ruined.
Unsurprisingly, Victor and Ellie struggled due to the tense nature of their circumstances, with Ellie finding that Victor treated her like an “a ** hole” at times. Meanwhile, Victor was mad at Ellie for having realistic questions about how to cater for herself as her plan to open a bar on the beach was now much more complicated due to the lack of tourists. Victor said she knew nothing about the island and that all she cared about was money and that he would pay her back and be done with it. Ellie got upset and said she didn’t want to be in Providencia anymore.
“It was definitely the biggest fight we have ever gotten into,” said Ellie in front of the cameras on Sunday. “It was crazy, it went from zero to 60 really fast and today I’m really pissed off about it and honestly I don’t even know if he’s coming back to San Andrés or if I want him. I feel sad about leaving the island It was just kind of a metaphor for our relationship right now. It’s just shattered and in tatters and that’s how I feel inside. “
Victor later asked her to take a walk on the beach and admitted that he was not doing things optimally.
“I really want to find out and I know I might have overreacted last night,” he said. “It was not nice.”
Ellie told him that she didn’t want to make him feel guilty about the money she had already given him.
“It’s just a misunderstanding, I think,” he said, emphasizing that he wasn’t with her because of her money. “That’s our problem right now. And we’ve never had this problem too often. I just want to clear it up and say that I’m sorry again for last night, I think we’re both emotionally tired right now.” and physically tired of the hurricane and basically losing everything. It’s a lot. “
Ellie accepted his apology.
“Victor’s apology seems sincere,” she told the cameras. “He seems really upset and you know I regret talking to him and yelling at him too. We both just have to move on. We love each other very much and, you know, when we’re strong and everything is fine, it’s perfect. “
Victor then grabbed a shell from the beach and proposed marriage to Ellie. He said he had a ring for her, but it got lost in the hurricane. Ellie was dizzy and the ringless, improvised proposal didn’t matter. Victor told the cameras, “I’m getting married for the first time in my life. And it’s going to be a great moment. I think I’ll like it.”
Meanwhile, Ellie said of her future, “The ultimate goal is still to have our bar and live together and just relax. We have hurdles to overcome that we didn’t necessarily expect, but it feels good that we’re going to do it together. It feels good.”
ET spoke to Ellie about her trip this season 90 days fiancé: the other way, and she explained why she took the leap of faith by moving to Providencia to be with Victor after he had betrayed her.
“He was definitely hard to trust, but I really feel like he’s very sorry,” she said. “And, I don’t know, it was such a crazy time. It was after COVID, no one really knew what was in store for the world. I didn’t apologize to him, but I can understand where you are at.” in because we’ve all been through the same thing in different abilities and just wondering what’s next? What we gonna do? How long will it take? And since then, I’ve had no reason not to trust him. When we’re together, it’s not like he’s trying to sneak away from me and he just keeps saying, ‘Oh, I just want to hang out with you.’ “
The death of her first husband also greatly influenced her attitude towards love.
“Probably losing someone so close to you changes … I don’t know, I think people might go different ways,” she explained. “Maybe they would just build a wall around them, which I may have done for a long time, but also just more willing to take that leap of faith because you just never know, and when you think you have found the person you are want to be with them then you try to be with them because you don’t want to waste time. “
