Owen Wilson Continues His Vancouver Tour with a Surprise Visit

Vancouver locals are used to celebrity sightings, but Owen Wilson is quickly becoming a regular fixture residents can’t stop talking about. The beloved actor was spotted again late last week, this time taking in the creative atmosphere on Granville Island.

A “Fitting” Stop at a Local Art School

Wilson paid a visit to the team at Arts Umbrella at 1400 Johnson St. on Friday. The organization, a celebrated non-profit, is Canada’s leading center for youth arts education, specializing in a range of disciplines.

A spokesperson for the school told Daily Hive that the visit was a pleasant surprise but made perfect sense. “Arts Umbrella is Canada’s leading not-for-profit charitable organization dedicated to youth arts education (including programs in film), so it was a very fitting moment!” they shared. As the only multi-disciplinary arts education center of its kind, the school reaches nearly 20,000 young people annually, fostering talent in Art and Design, Dance, Theatre, Music, and Film.

Why Wilson is All Over Vancouver

Fans wondering why the Marley & Me star is spending so much time in the city need look no further than his latest project. Wilson has been in Metro Vancouver filming Stick, a new Apple TV+ series about a former professional golfer.

His presence has led to numerous sightings over the past year. Earlier this summer, he was seen at the popular seafood and cocktail spot, Bar Bravo. Before that, in 2024, he delighted onlookers by riding his bike through the city for a scene, even giving fans his signature “ka-chow!” from the movie Cars. It seems if you’re in Vancouver, you’d better keep your eyes peeled—you never know where he might show up next.
