A Touchdown and Teasing in the Consuelos Household

A visit from Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos’ daughter, Lola, brought more than just joy to their New York City home—it also apparently brought a case of “bad luck,” at least according to Mark. On a recent episode of Live With Kelly and Mark, Ripa shared a hilarious story about how she and Lola nearly derailed a crucial NFL game.

“Our daughter is home visiting us. We’re so happy. There’s so much life in the house when she’s in the house,” Ripa began. However, the mood shifted when they entered the room where Mark was watching his beloved Tampa Bay Buccaneers. “Anyway, Lola and I walked in while [Mark] was watching the game, and something bad happened.”

Ripa admitted she wasn’t paying close attention but recalled that Mark immediately “declared that maybe we were bad luck.” Although the Buccaneers ultimately defeated the 49ers 30-19, Mark playfully blamed his wife and daughter for a tense moment in the game. While he later denied saying it, Ripa insisted, “Somebody said it, that we were bad luck, when we walked into the room.”

In response, the mother-daughter duo made a swift exit. “And so, then we took our exit cue, and I was like, ‘Don’t tempt me with a good time. I don’t mind leaving and not watching this game,’” Ripa joked. Mark confirmed that “everything was great” once they left, leading Kelly to quip, “So basically, I controlled the game.”

Lola’s Life in London

Lola, 24, is the middle child of the famous couple, who also have two sons, Michael, 28, and Joaquin, 22. Her visit was a special occasion, as she relocated to London two years ago after initially studying abroad there during her time at New York University.

On her podcast, Let’s Talk Off Camera, Ripa discussed Lola’s love for her new city. “I love London,” Lola shared. “I encourage everyone to do at least, if you can, a year… I think it’s the best city. New York’s always gonna be my home. But London just has a charm that… It just has such a charm. It’s so beautiful.”

A Future Abroad

Lola’s connection to London seems to be growing stronger, as she is currently in the process of extending her stay. “I’m currently in the process of applying for my visa — my visa extension, which would then let me stay there for another five years, which is quite nutty,” she revealed. Part of her decision to stay is also influenced by her boyfriend, Cassius Kidston, of whom Ripa has voiced her approval, stating, “I love him. I love his family. We are very close.”

Lola’s trip home also coincides with a new creative project. She is set to release a new single, fittingly titled “LOLA,” and has been actively promoting it on her social media.
