Rare red carpet appearance
Kelly LeBrock, best known for roles in The Woman in Red and Weird Science, surprised fans when she walked the red carpet at the Vanderpump Foundation Dog Gala in Beverly Hills.
Wearing a tailored blazer, leather pants and cowboy boots monogrammed with her initials, LeBrock attended the annual charity event hosted by Real Housewives alum Lisa Vanderpump. The gala raises funds for rescue, rehoming and rehabilitation programs for dogs.
Why she came out
LeBrock told reporters she rarely leaves her ranch. “I don’t really go out anymore. I’m sort of a bit of a recluse, but I like it like that,” she said on the red carpet.
She said a longtime love of animals and a personal health scare contributed to her decision to attend. The actress said she was “happy” to support Vanderpump’s dog charity and the work it does to help animals in need.
Life after Hollywood
After a high-profile acting career in the 1980s, Kelly LeBrock largely stepped away from show business. She moved to a remote ranch in Santa Ynez, California — about a three-hour drive from Los Angeles — and has lived there for roughly 35 years.
LeBrock described her life on the ranch as simple and hands-on. “I gave up diamonds for dirt, and I have a big ranch that I have horses and cattle and dogs and chickens, and I take care of it myself… I have one man, one day a week that comes and helps,” she said.
Family and past
Born in New York, LeBrock began her career as a model, rising to become a face for Christian Dior before moving into film. She married producer Victor Drai in 1984; the couple divorced two years later.
In 1987 she married action star Steven Seagal and had three children: Annaliza, Dominic and Arissa. The couple divorced in 1994 amid widely publicized legal disputes. LeBrock has said she removed television from the home and moved her children out of Los Angeles so they could grow up away from tabloid attention.
Career highlights and later work
LeBrock earned fame for playing the glamorous romantic interest in The Woman in Red and later the “perfect woman” created in Weird Science. Though she appeared in only a handful of films after those hits, she returned briefly to acting in the 2015 Starz film A Prince for Christmas.
Her appearance at the Vanderpump Dog Gala marks one of the few times she has been photographed at a public event in recent years, and it underscores her continued commitment to animal welfare even while living a quieter life.
Photos from the event showed LeBrock smiling on the red carpet and speaking with other guests as she supported the Vanderpump Foundation’s mission.
