Apatow Family Secrets Unveiled

Director Judd Apatow has pulled back the curtain on his family life, revealing a hilarious and slightly terrifying habit his eldest daughter, Euphoria star Maude Apatow, had as a child. During a recent appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers, Apatow shared that whenever Maude was angry with him and his wife, Leslie Mann, she would channel her rage into brutally honest, expletive-filled notes left around their home.

“When we would get into a fight or she was mad at us, one way she dealt with not just yelling at us is she would write mean things on a notepad and just leave them around the house,” Apatow explained to a laughing Meyers.

The “Bitch-Headed Bitches” Incident

To illustrate, Meyers presented one of Maude’s artistic creations. The note featured a doodle of three people with the words “f— you, bitch-headed bitches” scrawled above them. Apatow quickly broke down the drawing for the audience.

“Me, Leslie, and I think that’s [Maude’s younger sister] Iris going, ‘Whaa,'” he said, pointing out the crying figure. “She’s angry at a baby.”

A Direct and Violent Message

While the first note was shocking, Meyers revealed it got “weirdly worse.” He then showed a second note with a much more direct insult: “F— you, Judd Apatow.”

“She doesn’t even want to risk that you think it might be a different Judd,” Meyers joked.

But the true horror was in the accompanying illustration. “That’s an executioner who just cut my head off,” Apatow initially said, before correcting himself upon closer inspection. “Oh, wait! I just realized, no, no, I got it wrong. That’s not the executioner — that’s me without a head.”

Like Father, Like Daughter?

As it turns out, a talent for writing scathing notes may run in the family. Apatow confessed to his own history of fiery correspondence, recalling a time he sent an angry letter to the executive who canceled his beloved shows The Ben Stiller Show and Undeclared.

Meyers read Apatow’s scathing message aloud: “I don’t know if you just f—ed me in the ass again, or you just never took it out in 1992.”

Reflecting on his past actions, Apatow simply shrugged. “You know, when you’re a kid, you’re very passionate.”
