Jennifer Lopez Shuts Down A-Rod Rumors

Jennifer Lopez has finally responded to the lingering rumors that her 2021 split from fiancé Alex Rodriguez was fueled by his alleged connection to Southern Charm star Madison LeCroy. During an October 15 appearance on Watch What Happens Live, host Andy Cohen, noting the “Bravo-verse would kill” him if he didn’t ask, brought up the scandal.

When asked directly if the LeCroy rumors contributed to the breakup, Lopez paused before delivering a masterclass in media management.

“You know,” she began, “I really have nothing to say about my personal life anymore. I feel like I’m done with that.” Her firm but graceful response was met with applause from the live audience, to which she smiled and said, “Yes, support!”

A Look Back at the Scandal

The drama erupted just weeks before Lopez and Rodriguez announced the end of their engagement in April 2021. During a fiery Southern Charm reunion in February of that year, cast member Craig Conover accused Madison LeCroy of flying to Miami to “f–k an ex-MLB player.”

LeCroy vehemently denied the claims on the show, stating, “Put me on a lie detector test. I never flew to Miami.” As speculation mounted that the player was Rodriguez, LeCroy clarified her connection to him in an interview with Page Six. She admitted they had “spoken on the phone” but insisted they had never met in person and that Rodriguez had “never physically cheated on his fiancée with me.”

At the time, a representative for Rodriguez also slammed the stories as “factually incorrect.”

LeCroy Tells Her Side

While the chatter eventually died down, LeCroy provided more details in a 2023 podcast appearance with her ex, Austen Kroll. Kroll recalled LeCroy complaining that Rodriguez had “FaceTimed me three or four times today” and got angry when she didn’t answer.

Confirming the story, LeCroy—who married Brett Randle in 2022—recalled her blunt message to the former baseball star. “I told him, I said, ‘If you’re looking for a side chick, which clearly he was, it wasn’t gonna be me,’” she stated. “I’m wifey material.”

With her latest comment, Jennifer Lopez has made it clear she has closed that chapter for good, preferring to keep the focus off her past and on her present.
