A Star-Studded Night in San Francisco
San Francisco is rolling out the red carpet for some of Hollywood’s brightest talents at the 2025 SFFilm Awards Night. This year’s prestigious event will celebrate the remarkable contributions of Kristen Stewart, Benicio del Toro, Wunmi Mosaku, and Scott Cooper on December 8 at the Gateway Pavilion at Fort Mason Center.
The annual gala is not just a night of celebration but also SFFilm’s most significant fundraiser. Proceeds from the evening directly support the organization’s vital youth education initiatives, artist development programs, and year-round film programming.
“The work of our honorees will resonate for years to come,” said SFFilm Executive Director Anne Lai in a statement. “We couldn’t be more thrilled to honor such notable talents as Scott, Benicio, Wunmi, and Kristen for their stellar contributions to film this year.”
Kristen Stewart Honored for Directorial Debut
Kristen Stewart, a powerhouse actress since her “Twilight” days, will be presented with the Nion McEvoy & Leslie Berriman Award for Storytelling. This honor recognizes her transition to the director’s chair for her debut feature, “The Chronology of Water,” which is slated for a January release. Imogen Poots, who stars in the film, is expected to present the award to Stewart.
Benicio del Toro Recognized for Acting Prowess
Veteran actor and Oscar-winner Benicio del Toro will receive the Maria Manetti Shrem Award for Acting. Del Toro has had an impressive year with standout roles in Wes Anderson’s “The Phoenician Scheme” and Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another.” His co-star from the latter film, Regina Hall, will present him with the honor.
Celebrating Wunmi Mosaku and Scott Cooper
The evening will also shine a spotlight on other exceptional talents. Wunmi Mosaku, known for her memorable roles in “Sinners” and the Marvel series “Loki,” will receive the George Gund III Award for Virtuosity. Her “Sinners” co-star, Delroy Lindo, is slated to present her award.
Meanwhile, director Scott Cooper, the creative force behind “Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere,” is set to receive the Irving M. Levin Award for Film Direction, celebrating his outstanding work behind the camera.
