Types of nethouses, construction and its utility

Net-house is a net made of plastic.  To erect a certain type of structure by covering the frame made of pipe with mesh cover.  The main advantage of this is that more quality vegetables and flowers can be produced from a small area for many months.  At present, Net House is considered as a very important part of Gujarat.  Which protects the plant in adverse conditions.

Shad-nets are available in a variety of different colors with a percentage of different shades.  Generally popular and available in Shade-net market of 30%, 50% and 75%.  Shade-nets use green, white, and black.

Points to consider when choosing a nethouse location:

1. The place should be higher than the surrounding space.  The slope of the land should be such that rainwater is well drained in monsoon.

2. The quality of drinking water should be good i.e. its pH.  2.5 to 2.0 and conductivity (EC) 0.2 to 0.8 DS.  / M  Should be.

3. It would be more advisable to get canal water on the site selection.

4. The nethouse should always be away from large trees and buildings so as not to obstruct sunlight.

5. The place should be pollution free and there should not be any kind of industries around.

6. Nethouses are set up in a place where the equipment, facilities and facilities for distribution of the product are connected to the market.

7. Trees can be planted 50 meters away from the nethouse to control wind.

Types of nethouse:

(1) Low cost nethoues:

  • This type of nethouse has a total of upto 3 meter.
  • This type of nethouse is erected on a bamboo pole.
  • This type of nethouse needs regular maintenance as it can be damaged by hurricanes.
  • This type of nethouse is suitable for growing low altitude crops like cauliflower, broccoli, coriander, chilli, oats, parsley, beech, lettuce and spinach.
  • This type of nethouse can withstand a maximum speed of 80km/h.
  • Its estimated cost is 40-50 rupees per square meter.

(2) Medium cost nethouse:

  • The total height of this type of nethouse is upto 3 meters and the spot size is 4m x 4m.
  • Aluminium profiles are used to buils the shed nets in the nethouse.
  • Low-altitude crops can be grown in this type of nethhouse,such as tomatoes, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, etc.
  • This tyype of nethouse can withstand a maximum wind speed of 100km/h.
  • This type of nethouse is built on the basis of GI pipe.
  • Its estimated cost is 75-100 rupees per square meter.
