BSF found a 450 feet long tunnel in Jammu’s Samba sector

It was covered with sandbags, on which was found the marking of Pakistan

The Border Security Force (BSF) has found a 450-foot-long tunnel in Jammu’s Samba sector. “We got an input from this,” said Jammu BSF Range IG NS Jamwal. The mine was found during a search operation. This is 450 feet long from Zero Lion to India. His mouth was covered with sandbags.

Jamwal said a complaint would be lodged with Pakistani authorities in the case and action would be sought against the culprits. Looking at the condition of the sandbags it looks like the tunnel was being built only recently. Such a large tunnel in the border area cannot be built without the approval of Pakistan Rangers and other agencies.

3 to 4 feet wide tunnel
The BSF said the tunnel is 3-4 feet wide. Officers said the investigation found 8 to 10 bags in the tunnel. It has the mark of Pakistan on it. Karachi and Shakargarh have written. The date of manufacture and the expiry date on the bag suggest that it is not very old. He said the mine was found at a distance of about 400 meters from the Pakistani post.

Search operation throughout the area
Following this success, BSF has launched a search operation in the entire area. It is suspected that such a tunnel has been constructed elsewhere on the border. The BSF said that such tunnels allow intruders to enter India. Smuggling of weapons and drugs also becomes easier.

Just a week ago shot 5 intruders
In Tarn Taran, Punjab, the BSF had shot dead five infiltrators at the international border just a week ago. An AK-47 rifle and 4 pistols and 9.5 kg of heroin were recovered from them. The encounter took place near All Post in Taran Taran district. The BSF alert was then issued. A search operation has since been launched around the border.
