Truck Yard Oklahoma City is going all out to celebrate the music legend’s milestone. The family-friendly, dog-friendly event opens at 11 a.m. Saturday and runs through the afternoon with live music, food trucks, and drinks inspired by Dolly Parton.

Highlights include a “Dazzling Dolly Impersonator” available for photos from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m., a Doggie Parton Costume Contest at 4:30 p.m., and a Dolly lookalike contest at 5:30 p.m. Guests are encouraged to wear boots, hats and rhinestones for the full sparkling effect.

Food, drinks and family fun

Food trucks will serve a variety of offerings while themed cocktails and nonalcoholic drinks will be available all day. Truck Yard describes the mood as “strummin’ and singin’, sparklin’ and shinin'” — a casual celebration designed for fans of all ages.

Give back: Book drive honors Dolly’s legacy

In honor of Dolly Parton’s long history of supporting literacy, Truck Yard is hosting a children’s book drive. Attendees who donate a book will receive a special Dolly Parton pin while supplies last. The drive echoes Parton’s real-life Imagination Library, which has distributed millions of books to children.
