Neal McCoy postpones Sunday TV slot after breaking news

East Texas country singer Neal McCoy announced Saturday that his planned appearance on Fox & Friends Sunday morning was postponed. In a video posted to his Facebook page, McCoy said the slot was canceled because of breaking news coverage related to the capture of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro.

McCoy was already in New York

The singer told followers he was in New York ahead of the scheduled 7:50 a.m. appearance. He did not provide a new date for the Fox broadcast and said he would update fans through his Facebook page, “Neal McCoy Multi-Platinum Country Artist.”

“We are gonna try and dig around to see if we can come up with some other things while we are here,” McCoy said in the Facebook video. “We’ll let you know if we do. Please help us let other folks know that we will not be on Fox and Friends in the morning.”

Other media plans and White House appearance

Before the postponement, McCoy had said he expected to appear on Newsmax on Tuesday during the noon to 1 p.m. slot and planned additional appearances on One America News Network and other shows. He will keep followers updated about those interviews.

McCoy also planned to mark the 10th anniversary of his daily recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance with a White House appearance scheduled for about 10 a.m. on Jan. 7. He coordinated the visit through publicist Kirt Webster and said he hoped the visit would give followers something to celebrate.

10 years of daily pledges and limited-edition flags

McCoy began posting the Pledge of Allegiance on Jan. 7, 2016, and later livestreamed the recitation daily. Friday marked the 3,648th consecutive day he recited the pledge. Fans tune in to his livestreams from across the country, including many who say the daily ritual gives them comfort and connection.

To mark the milestone and America’s 250th anniversary, McCoy partnered with Allied Flag on a limited-edition flag. Flags sold through his website will ship in customized boxes and some boxes will be autographed by McCoy. For details and purchases, visit his official site: nealmccoy.com.

What’s next

McCoy said the postponement was strictly a scheduling impact from major news coverage and reiterated his commitment to keeping the daily pledge tradition going. Fans should follow his Facebook page for the latest updates on rescheduled TV slots and White House plans.
