Bollywood choreographer Saroj Khan has died in Mumbai at the age of 71. Saroj Khan died of cardiac arrest at 1:52 pm on Friday at Guru Nanak Hospital in Bandra. Saroj Khan was admitted to the hospital from June 17. Saroj Khan was admitted with difficulty in breathing and his corona report was negative. Saroj Khan was suffering from diabetes and its related ailments. His terrestrial body was handed over to his family overnight. His youngest daughter Sukanya said Ammi was laid to rest at the Malad cemetery at 7 am in view of the lockdown rules. The family has decided to hold a prayer meeting in his memory for three days. Saroj’s family includes his son Hamid Khan (popularly known as choreographer Raju Khan) and two daughters Hina and Sukanya.
In his 40-year career, Saroj Khan has choreographed about two thousand songs. He has won three National Awards. Sridevi choreographed Bollywood’s Biggest Actresses including Madhuri Dixit. He also choreographed several films in the South.
The final film with Madhuri
Sarokh Khan’s last song was choreographed for Karan Johar’s film ‘Kalank’ last year. The song was “Tabaah Ho Gaye”. The song featured Madhuri Dixit.
He was admitted to the hospital on June 24
On June 24, Saroj Khan’s health deteriorated. He was admitted to Guru Nanak Hospital in Mumbai. He had difficulty breathing. He had a corona test and it came back negative.
From Sadhana, he taught dance to actresses including Kareena
Most of the big actresses in Bollywood have danced under the direction of Saroj Khan. Saroj Khan has Sadhana, Vaijayantimala, Kumkum, Helen, Sharmila Tagore, Mala Sinha, Waheeda Rahman, Jinnat Aman to Rekha, Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit, Karishma Kapoor, Urmila Matodkar, Aishwarya Rai, Kareena Kapoor, Sunny Leone. Madhuri Dixit was his favorite actress. He also taught dance to many actresses from the South.
Became a child artist at the age of three
Saroj Khan started working as a child artist at the age of 3. She then began her career as a background dancer in the ’50s. He then became an assistant director. Gita Mera Naam got its first break as an independent choreographer in 1974. Saroj Khan has choreographed more than two thousand songs in his career. That is why she is also called the ‘Mother of Dance’.
