Karcher Rd. closed this weekend for Highway 55 work
The Idaho Transportation Department has scheduled a full closure of Highway 55 (Karcher Road) between Montana Avenue and Indiana Avenue starting at 10 p.m. tonight. Crews will work overnight and through the weekend to replace irrigation infrastructure. The roadway is expected to reopen Monday morning at 5 a.m.
Officials say the irrigation upgrades will support a larger Karcher Road widening project slated for completion by 2027. Drivers should plan alternate routes and allow extra travel time through Nampa and the surrounding Treasure Valley areas.
Shane Gillis takes the stage at ExtraMile Arena
Tonight at 8 p.m., comedian Shane Gillis headlines a show at ExtraMile Arena in Downtown Boise. Gillis, who recently returned with the second season of his Netflix series Tires and has hosted high-profile events like this year’s ESPYs and SNL, will perform standup for a large Treasure Valley audience.
Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased through Ticketmaster. Fans attending the 8 p.m. show should account for event traffic near the arena and the Karcher Road closure when planning their arrival.

What to expect at the show
Gillis’ live set typically blends observational comedy with personal stories. Arrive early for seating and security checks. ExtraMile Arena offers standard venue amenities, and downtown parking lots and garages will likely fill fast on a show night.
Boise Art Glass hosts ‘Raise a Glass’ charity event
Also tonight, Boise Art Glass is hosting its annual Raise a Glass fundraiser to benefit the Women & Children’s Alliance of Boise. The free-to-attend event runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and features wine tasting, a silent auction, glass-art demonstrations, and hands-on classes.
While entry is free, attendees need a ticket to reserve a spot in any paid class or workshop. The event is family-friendly, and proceeds and auction items support local services for women and children in need.
Plan your evening: closures, events and parking
With multiple events around the Treasure Valley tonight, residents should plan routes and parking ahead of time. The Karcher Road closure affects Highway 55 access — consider using alternate east-west connectors and expect increased downtown traffic near ExtraMile Arena and Boise Art Glass.
For live updates and more local notices, check the Idaho Transportation Department alerts and venue social channels. Enjoy the events and travel safely.
