In a recent exclusive chat with Page Six, the legendary actor couldn’t hide his joy when speaking about his grandchildren. “I’m a doting grandpa,” he confessed. “Like I have to restrain myself from jumping in the car and going over, you know what I mean?”
The “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” star, 80, is lucky to have his family close. His daughter Gracie is mother to two-and-a-half-year-old Sinclair, and his daughter Lucy is mother to 15-month-old Carmine. “It’s just a wonderful thing that I’m like 15 minutes away from where they live,” DeVito shared. “I find myself needing a fix, getting in the car, calling them up and saying, ‘What’s happening tonight? Can Pop Pop come over for a plate of pasta?’”
Raising “Real Italians”
Beyond just spoiling them, DeVito has a cultural education in mind for the little ones. He proudly bragged that he’s making his grandkids “real Italians.” He joked, “They’re going to talk like, ‘Wanna cup of cawfee?’ It’s going to be all that!” This humorous mission highlights the actor’s deep connection to his heritage and his desire to pass it on to the next generation.
